Australia is among the countries that leading the world in education. Australia provides foreign students to avail the opportunity of excellent education. If anyone wants to study in Australia, s/he is required to obtain study visa of Australia. Australia is counted as visa friendly country when it comes to studies and immigration. Study visa falls under the subclass 500 and anyone wishing to study in the Australia must apply under this subclass.

Australian Study Visa Checklist:

Here is described a checklist that you must consider before you apply for the Australian study visa.

1) Basic Eligibility Criteria:

  • You must be at least six years of age
  • You must have been accepted to study at an educational institution in Australia
  • You must have health insurance.
  • You must organize appropriate welfare arrangements for the duration of your intended stay in Australia if you are under 18 years of age.

2) Enrollment Criteria:

You must be enrolled in a course of study that is registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and courses for Overseas for Overseas Students (CRICOS) in order to obtain a visa.
If you are applying from outside of the Australia then you must include a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) for each course of study that you wish to enroll in with your visa application. However, a letter of offer from your education provider will not be acceptable.

3) Genuine Temporary entry assurance:

The GTE requirement applies to all student visa applicants and every student must get through it. In GTE, the officer checking the visa will check whether the student in the intention of studying only. The student will have to satisfy the officer in order to get an entry in the Australia.

4) English Language Proficiency:

As an official and native language of Australia is English therefore, it is needed that you meet the minimum English proficiency criteria. English language proficiency evidence indicates that you are able to speak, listen, read and understand the English in different situations. Australian Embassy as a proof of English level proficiency usually requires IELTS or TOFEL.

5) Proof of Financial Support:

Studying in Australia can be expensive because you are not allowed to work full time to support your studies. However, part-time work options are available under special circumstances. You need to be financially strong in order to stay, live and study in the Australia. You must have funds in your bank account to live in Australia easily for at least 12 months. Moreover, you need a letter of support from Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade or from Department of Defense.
